Between KVAH's two concerts in October and three in December, there will be no public concert at all in November. However, our members can look forward to two members' evenings. We do not sell tickets to them, however, it is required that you show your membership card. As financial support, we are of course happy if you still pay a voluntary collection, either in the church or by Swishing money.
On Friday the 4th of November we have a member's evening in Allhelgonakyrkan with music by Bo Linde. Ylva Larsdotter, violin, Torun Sæter Stavseng, cello and Peter Friis Johansson, piano play Piano trio no. 1 op. 5 and Divertimento op. 25 (in the version for violin, cello and piano). Bo Linde (1933–70) was the boy from Gävle who, during his short life, wrote more beautiful music than the tastes of that time accepted. Afterwards, we can only regret that it was so and rejoice in what is.
On Saturday, November 26th, we will witness something that musicians otherwise keep to themselves: a first playthrough of unrehearsed works - what the musicians themselves call a "reading"! In Italian this is called "a vista", at (first) sight. Which works it will be is a secret even to the musicians themselves, except of course the initiator, our artistic director Bengt Forsberg. Friends Tobias Ringborg, Cecilia Zilliacus (violin), Vicki Powell (viola) and Kati Raitinen (cello) gather around his grand piano to play a piano quintet. They get the sheet music an hour before.
Surely there are also some who are not yet KVAH members who want to be part of this. A membership costs SEK 250, which these two evenings alone are worth. But fortunately, new memberships purchased after October 1 are valid for the entire next year. With a SEK 50 discount on our concerts and sporadic members' evenings like these, perhaps we should raise the price?
