Scriabin, Vaughan Williams, Mägi

Jakob Högström, Cecilia Zilliacus, Kati Raitinen and Bengt Forsberg

Time for two more celebrants. Like Hugo Alfvén, his British coeval Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872–1958) wrote fine songs. Both were interested in the folk music of their countries, as was the Estonian Ester Mägi (1922–2021). She died last year, otherwise she could have celebrated her 100th birthday this year. But first there will be music by Scriabin - a standing feature at this year's festival concerts in Allhelgonakyrkan!
